The Paint Sprayer & Preparation Technician Role requires a dynamic team player with proven experience, skills and knowledge in paint preparation. The role requires operating to high quality workmanship standards within a world class manufacturing team and facility.

Responsibilities and Duties

Hands on role shot blasting, fully preparing, wet spraying and a range of chassis and ancillary components/materials.

Working Hours & Salary:

• Day Shift - Hours will be 06:00 -14:00 or 14:00 - 22:00 Monday - Thursday & Friday 06:00-11:30 11:30 - 17:00 rotating shifts (with regular structured overtime)
• Night Shift - Monday - Thursday 20.00 - 06.00 (with regular structured overtime)

Guaranteed basic starting salary £12.44 x 37.5 hours per week plus guaranteed minimum £40 per week bonus - £29,854.50 plus structured overtime paid at premium rates outlined below:

Level A - Overtime paid at premium rate of £18.66 per hour (i.e. x 1.5).

Level B – Overtime paid at premium rate of £24.88 per hour (i.e. x 2.0).

Day shift premium paid at x 1.15

Night shift premium paid at x 1.33

Plus additional monthly bonus aligned to business performance that equates to total bonus payments of £280 - £350 per month on average (for reference only).

Schedule:

• Day shift 8.5 hour Monday to Thursday, 6 hour Friday
• Night Shift 10 hours Monday- Thursday
• Overtime

Experience:

• Experience in spraying to understand the effects of poor preparation and/or poor paint application can have in terms of inconsistent film thickness, gloss levels, orange peel appearance & colour variations
• An appreciation of the Health & Safety hazards within a paint shop, specifically Isocyanates & flammable liquids. Experienced in using & maintaining air fed respiratory equipment;
• Experience of operating within a lean manufacturing/continuous improvement team environment;
• Welding knowledge would be an added advantage, but not essential;
• Shot blasting experience preferred;
• Experience of wet painting primer and gloss using airless, air assisted and hvlp systems, primer and gloss paints (2 pack systems). Preferably within manufacturing or car industry;
• Preferably of both industrial spray painting and car re-finishing.
